Investec EHL Premier
Canterbury 2 Slough 0
SLOUGH Ladies slipped into the lower half of the Investec Premier Division after a second successive defeat, this time by 2-0 to Canterbury.
After Canterbury had the better of a goalless first half Slough were then the dominant force but, despite frequent circle penetrations and a series of penalty corners, with Lauren Penny striking and Hannah Bowe flicking, they were unable to make the breakthrough.
Instead Canterbury struck twice through Eliza Brett and Susannah Townsend in the 44th and 63rd minutes respectively, both goals coming from hits into the D, deflections and close range tap-ins.
Once they were two up, the hosts withdrew former international Mel Clewlow into a full back role, further reducing scoring opportunities for Slough.
SLOUGH: Filochowski;, Mcgonigle, Harte, Coulson, Bowe, Scott, Cunningham, Bell, Bevan, Penny, Ilkei, Ball, White, Bryant.

Slough’s first home game at 2 pm tomorrow (Saturday) sees them face bottom club Sutton Coldfield who are still without a point.
Slough, now in seventh place, need the win to climb into an upper-table position and regain the scoring touch which has deserted them recently.
The Midlanders have returned to the Premier after a four-year absence and have England legend, 44-year-old Jane Sixsmith, in their ranks and still scoring regularly.
Slough, sponsored by The Hub Entertainment, have lost their first choice goalkeeper,
former international Becky Duggan, and will be without defender Emer Harte.
