Wycombe was going to be tough opposition in a 4th against 5th position match and it certainly started that way.

The 4ths knew that Wycombe was going to be tough, in a 4th against 5th position tie, so a strategy of playing the strongest team possible in the 1st half was adopted. Wycombe came out strong as expected, and Slough were put on the defensive early in the game. But the sure footed defence of Bhachu and Apinder proved solid, behind hard working centres of Sardara, Richard, Navneet and Veer.
Slightly against the run of play Slough played an excellent passing movement from the back and up the sides and finally to Jimmy, at centre forward, who held the ball up long enough to allow Bason to get in behind the Wycombe defence and score a well taken goal.
Slough began to take control and Bason and Rajan could have added further goals, shortly before half time Rajan did. He broke clear of the Wycombe defence to put Slough two up.

Second-half
Strangely, Wycombe began the second half in a more defensive mode, allowing Slough to dominate much of the early play. Half way through the second half, Richard pressed the Wycombe wings, before pulling the ball back across a crowded Wycombe goal area. Taranjeet reacted quickest to the loose ball and slotted the ball in for a third goal.
With nothing to loose, Wycombe changed their tactics and began to press forwards, forcing a series of short corners and a some of fine saves from keeper Warssi. It was from this pressure, that with 10 minutes left that Wycombe scored a fine goal after the ball was pulled back from the end line.
Wycombe had two more excellent chances to pull the game back, but keeper Warssi made excellent saves to give Slough a fine victory.

Captain Bhachu praised the team for their work rate and an excellent attitude to stay focused in the face of some intense pressure. The team acknowledged Warssi’s contribution and nominated him Man of the match
