Another friendly fixture and another win in contrast to the league and cup performance, but this week was rather different since it featured excellent performances from all the colts (on both sides!). Rohan Bhandal picked up a well deserved man of the match award, scoring a great debut goal and holding his centre midfield position with aplomb, always taking passes and distributing calmly, but he was closely pushed by Daniel Buckeldee and Finn Morris who also had good games.
Another great sight was the return of Gary Saini to hockey after a long illness. He was understandably concerned how he would do at first but grew into it and made a great run at the end that nearly resulted in a goal.
Richmond had struggled to find players for the game and so there were slough colts on both sides with Harshavendra Mahendran, Ben Harris, Sachin Sehdev and Rishi Daggar helping out the visitors. Sachin and Rishi picked up a goal apiece, Rishi having to cope with some unorthadox and rather targeted defending from his father!
Special thanks to Dahele and Gian for umpiring without incident. All in all a fun game.
