Slough started the game well, a realisation that this is not as easy as last season prompted raised attendance at training and a better performance on the pitch. There was some back and forth with forays into both halves repulsed by the defence in each case. However it was Richmond who took the lead with a speculative attempt that dropped for them; breaking into midfield the Richmond captain aimed a through ball at the top of the D from midfield, Sukhdeep Panesar got his stick to it but it bobbled past him and straight over the sticks of the Slough defence where it was picked up by a Richmond runner, slotting it past Mahen Thangavelu with ease to make it 1-0.

Slough soon replied at the next corned when Steve Dixon's shot following Ravinder Laly's slip was deflected through the keeper's legs.

Slough continued to press but could not kept Richmond out mainly due to errors on their part. Primarily the issue is basics but this lack of control is compounded by work-rate issues which only leaves passes that put players under pressure. At least 4 goals were avoidable - and although that does not meant that Richmond would not have scored eventually, were disappointingly easy considering the great work keeping other efforts out.

Slough managed 2 more goals and at one point it was 4-3 but the gifting of easy goals made it a fruitless chase.

Although it was another loss, the Slough colts continue to shine, James Dixon played a particularly solid game at left back following some intensive training on Tuesday with Nikhil Singh and Arundeep Hans put in good shifts in their first and second games respectively.

More work is needed but Slough are capable of some showing in this league especially based upon the development so far.
