This was expected to be a tough game and so it proved. Slough came off worse in the early encounters and went down 1-0 in the first 10 mins. They showed great character and responded well, taking control of the game after winning a penalty corner. Whilst the accuracy of the push out was not great, Tim Davatalwal received the ball, beat the oncoming defence and slotted home Slough's equaliser. Slough added a second afterwards, after a series of replayed penalty corners. Sira received the ball and despatched a low powerful drag flick which took a deflection off a defenders stick sending the keeper the wrong way. Slough maintained their ascendancy adding a third, again from a short corner, with Kartar driving the ball from the left, which appeared to be heading out, but fortunately Suraj Rajput was on hand to deflect the ball into the net and give Slough a good cushion.
The second half was harder fought than the first and West London did eventually get their second goal, but the day belonged to Slough, who throughout the game showed the determination required to grind out a result against the brutal onslaught of the West London team.
Special mentions for Bini Shergill, who completely thwarted any West London attack down the right and Tim alongside Suraj securing the middle.
