What a weekend! What a great day out! Amazing performance by the U10 team. We only had one team, U10 Slough Tigers and the only team with a keeper in the tournament.

The kids were a little nervous but equally rearing to have a go. The first game was an initiation and it only took a few minutes for them to get into gear. Tigers drew the first two games against Marlow A and Henley both strong units. We had a very good defence and an even better goal keeper who made phenomenal saves in both games. Our next game was against Reading. From watching them we could see that they were a well drilled team. Tigers however performed brilliantly and we won 2-0. Our last was against Marlow B and this we won comfortably 3-0.
 
My man of the match was Navin who controlled the midfield superbly. His energy and pace was no match for the opposition. He scored two goals and had an assist for Dev’s goal. One of his goals was all to do with being tenacious, he chased a lost cause when all the players thought the ball rolled out of the by-line. He retrieved it and scored without even the opposition knowing. Brilliant play!
 
Another outstanding player was Rohan our keeper. He made brilliant saves and the roars he got when he made those saves were amazing. It was as if he had scored. Even the parents of other teams, who were watching the other game came to see what was going on and they too started supporting us.
 
Keeper didn’t have many saves to make in the third 8-a-side (against Reading!) and fourth game as we had an excellent defence. Divya was a no nonsense defender. She cleared ball and man in crunching tackles.
 
Good performances by Rihana and Shelby too.
 
Overall, a brilliant performance for our first tournament. The Tigers were biting my hand off for a chance to play (subbing was very difficult to take for them). They played with great team spirit getting into a huddle before the game and learnt to shake hands and call three cheers for the opposition after. I would have liked to see more passing and playing in their positions.
