Having defended so well the previous week against a vastly superior Guildford side, Slough put in a comparatively poor performance against Wimbledon. The only real high points were from 2 goakeepers : some amazing amd brave saves from Man of the Match Rahul Doll in goal - in particular one reflex save with his left hand saved a certain goal after his defence had gone AWOL once again and Slough's goal which came when Harshavendran Mahendran (usually a goalkeeper who picked up the MoM for his performance last week) played a blistering diagonal pass for Talha Sadiq to tap in at the left post. Apart from this, Ben Harris worked hard in midfield after relinquishing his Centre forward spot, Zakir Thasim worked hard in midfield and covered seamlessly for Nikhil Singh who then showed some determination to return to play after a debilitating hit on the knee. Although Navidu Vithana was probably Slough's most effective option the ball was so infrequently delivered to him that he could not build up any momentum and his contribution was sporadic.

Otherwise Slough were shambolic. They completely lost their shape, disregarded/forgot their pre-match instruction, looked like they did not know what they were doing, allowed their heads to drop rather than playing as a team, refused to go back to defend, when they did win the ball then made suicidal passes straight to wimbledon players BEHIND THEM, failed to keep the ball out of the "D" giving the Wimbledon players easy opportunities and making the majority of the goals impossible to save and consistently failed to move the ball to the right (where Navidu Vithana, looking dangerous on the break, was consistently overlooked in favour of a poor decision to dribble at 5 players and inevitably lose the ball).

Disappointingly, on this showing Guildford were far better than Wimbledon and if Slough had kept things simple, worked for each other and shown half the promise of last week, the score would certainly not have reached double figures.

Slough need to consolidate; they have some promising players but unless they work together as a team, pass instead of dribbling, play the positions they are assigned to the best of their abilities, follow the game plan and find a way to raise their game against average opposition, all they can expect is more results like this.
